About Michael Owens

Michael Owens is a UX professional with over 20 years of experience in end-to-end design, development, and management of user-centered design projects. Michael’s work on projects includes user research, UX design and prototyping, usability testing, UI development, and project management. As both an in-house resource and a consultant, Michael has worked on a wide range of projects, delivering innovative user experiences that meet user and business needs. Her projects span the range from large-scale data-rich portals to consumer-oriented mobile applications.

Michael has worked with a variety of clients in the government and private sectors, and enjoys tackling hard problems through great design. She is a published author of four full-length novels and two non-fiction books. She also holds a teaching degree and has taught college courses in writing and design. Michael is a Human Factors International Certified Usability Analyst and holds a Masters in American Studies from the University of Virginia, a Masters of Education from Marymount University, and a B.A. from Johns Hopkins.
